St. Vincent - the largest and most populated of the inhabited islands is referred to as the mainland. The capital is Kingstown where the seat of government resides. St. Vincent and the Grenadines is an independent parliamentary democracy within the British Commonwealth. Blessed with a mountainous topography, sea views abound. Most beaches are black sand but there are a few golden sand beaches as well.

Bequia - Only nine miles away from the mainland of St. Vincent. Bequia is a true beauty and the ideal destination for the foreign investor or retiree.  There are  many part time and full time residents from Canada, the USA and Europe as well as native islanders. A safe, friendly island with a village feel. Port Elizabeth, its main town boasts the protected anchorage of Admiralty bay which is the most beautiful bay in the Grenadines. Golden sand beaches, restaurants and bars, yachts, fishing boats and always a sea breeze.

Mustique - Beautiful white sand beaches and a gentle terrain, Mustique is smaller than St. Vincent, just under five square miles.  A unique, private island with exclusive villas, and opulent architectural beauties on dramatic hilltops.  Mustique is home to not only the rich and famous but also royalty.

Union Island - A mountain island of about 200 acres it is much further south than St. Vincent. Most of the population is concentrated in the harbor, Clifton, and the village of Aston.

Canouan - Further south than Mustique, Grand Bay it's harbor has the widest expanse of beach of the islands. Five star hotel, plus first class golf course makes this a favored visitors destination.

Mayreau - A tiny island of about one and a half square miles, with gorgeous white sand beaches, and a small population of about a hundred people. It's serene atmosphere and expanse of sparkling clear Caribbean sea makes it bays a must for sailors to SVG.

The population of SVG is approximately 108,000 with a higher ratio of males to females. The largest segment of the population is between ages 15 to 64 years old. Total life expectancy (both sexes) at birth for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is 74.2 years. This is above the average life expectancy at birth of the global population which is about 71 years (according to Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations).

The climate varies between the islands, as the Grenadines to the south are slightly drier and marginally warmer than St Vincent.  In January the average daily high temperature is 29°C (85°F), while the nightly low is 22°C (72°F). In July the average high is 30°C (86°F), while the nightly low is 24°C (76°F).
